Carisbrook – Landfill Project
The Carisbrook Landfill on behalf of the Central Goldfields Shire Council required the installation of six (6) each gas monitoring bores and one (1) each leachate monitoring bore.
The gas monitoring bores were to be installed in accordance with the EPA Publication 788.3 Best Practice Environmental Management for Landfills 2015 – Section B.7 to a depth of 5.0m and the leachate bore installed in accordance with the EPA Publication 669 Groundwater Sampling Guidelines 2000 to a depth of 5.0m.
CDR Geotech were awarded the contract by the Central Goldfields Shire Council to provide all the services inclusive of site supervision, bore logs documenting the subsurface geology and construction details along with a bore installation report inclusive of location survey data and detailed plans.
The bores were installed onsite over a two-day period using a truck mounted drill rig and included the installation of the appropriate casings, bentonite sealing and final fitment of the appropriate steel ‘vandal proof’ lockable covers.
Repairs were also completed to an existing ground water monitoring bore casing and protective cover as requested by the Central Goldfields Shire Council representative.
